Before we get started time can go by so fast. So can a fire once ignited. That also goes for growth within a city. Some politicians and city council members get it right and some not so much.

Fire and Aviation TV recently read an article about Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue in Florida. As founder over the years well know and like to compliment the city and fire department on its current cadet’s class in training. A larger recruitment will change the future of Fort Lauderdale’s Fire Rescue. A new generation of many new recruits adding the size and capability of a growing city in high rises especially noticed in a recent trip.

Having been gone for many years what a dramatic change in skyline and construction. Congratulations to the city and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue for their success over the past decade.

Now for many big departments, they can learn so much from these two fire departments in South Florida.

If you are a smaller fire department with challenges or other, then we would like to hear from you. There is one thing that some have forgotten and that is brotherhood. Even the young recruits from Fort Lauderdale’s cadet class stated its like a family for which all walks of life that is important.

One thing we all need to understand is learn from our peers and experience. Ever since 2015 FDNY recruits visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum as part of their training. That is now a tradition as we should NEVER FORGET.
